The Story
I came to transportation through personal experience and a belief that communities thrive with safe, affordable transportation choices. Early in my career, I helped establish community based transportation resources and that thread has continued to this day.
Over the past 20 years, I've had the privilege of leading community and statewide transportation and sustainability programs in the country — from new transit network design to statewide active transportation plans that drive change. Each project taught me that the technical and administrative work is half the job. The other half is people and connections: building trust, navigating politics, and keeping the vision going amid short-term actions.
Today, I work at the intersection of strategy, policy, and leadership — advising agencies and organizations and assisting to build transportation systems worthy of the communities they serve. I bring a practitioner and strategist's perspective, and a deep commitment to access and long-term thinking.
Philosophy
Infrastructure is for everyone.
Every transportation decision reflects a set of priorities. I believe in providing funding, space and access for all transportation choices and fuel sources, and serving the people most affected.
Innovation and creative thinking are a discipline.
The best transportation investments are ones that look right 30 years from now. Getting there requires changing and adapting to include all modes and new technologies to build systems that will to stay the course.
Community partnerships matter.
The most technically sound plan fails without champions. I invest in relationships with communities, with colleagues, with decision-makers to make change.
